One of my favourite types of challenge is colour, give me a colour pallet and I'm off and running. Colour can set a mood, reflect a season or just be fun to play with. This fortnight Julia is setting our challenge
We have had some wonderful entries for the last Valentines Challenge, and the DT team are going to have a really hard time chosing a top 3 from the many entries we received. I hope this next Challenge theme is just as popular, I'm not afraid to say I love Cute and Cuddly, so that's what I have chosen this time. You can create anything you like, cards, gifts scrapbook pages anything at all, as long as Cute and Cuddly features in it. I adore the Molly Blooms designs and that's what I have chosen for my DT piece, I hope you are inspired by all the DT pieces, as we have a wonderfully creative team.

Well love it or hate it, it’s getting that time of year again when everyone is making Christmas cards, gifts and decorations, so my theme for this challenge is ‘Anything Christmas’. I think it’s about one of the only times of year when you can’t have enough of the glitz and bling. Saying that my piece doesn’t even have any glitter on it, I think I have been very restrained, I suppose you could count mirror board as a bit blingy!! So everyone feel free to create anything you like and don’t hold back on embellishments it’s Christmas.

Hiya everyone. I absolutely love it when I go to other peoples homes and see handmade items and altered bits and pieces - they seem to give a place lots of character and individuality, so I thought a "Home Decor" theme would be a great challenge for this. Your creation could be anything from something for your wall or around the home, to giving a new lease of life to old furniture, to absolutely anything at all for the home! Use whatever you like - ink, paint, fabric, etc. Whatever you make will be unique to you and it's a great way to show off your talent and creativity. For inspiration, check out what the rest of the Design Team have come up with, as they have made stunning pieces! I'd love you all to have a go and share your creations with us, and can't wait to see what you make! Maria x

When it comes to crafting my passion is definately for rubber stamping - I'm not that great at drawing so for me it's the perfect way of creating a little bit of art that looks like it's supposed too! To this end I love creating pictures and scenes using stamps and masking. I've a step by step on todays blog post showing you how I built up the scene in my DT card as well as some links to other ideas, it's great fun and I'd love for you to create something to share with us too !

Lots of great inspiration from the team again, have we inspired you to use a mask in some way. You can use any sort of mask either stamping and masking the image so that subsequent stamps appear to be behind the first one. Or you can use a mask, such as Tim Holts masks, well you already know what they are for! What ever you do we looking forward to visiting and seeing your masked projects.

Hi everyone, yes it's Nikki here with this weeks challenge and it is one of my personal favourites to look at but I find it one of the hardest to get to look right! Hi everybody. Summer Holidays seemed to be an appropriate choice for this time of the year with schools breaking up for the summer and people jetting of here there and everywhere. How do you like to spend your holidays? Do you follow the sun, go camping, have adventure holidays or do you stay at home spending time in the garden or going for day trips. You can interpret the theme many ways. For my example I had a trip down memory lane, perhaps there are holidays that you'd like to remember. I'm looking forward to seeing all your work and if you are about to go away on holiday I hope you have a lovely time and look forward to seeing you when you get back.

I'm so excited to be picking the theme for our 4th Challenge, I have chosen Butterflies after coming across this beautiful quote by Primo Levi, who was a writer, chemist and a survivor of Auschwitz.

"The Butterfly's attractiveness dervives not only from colours and symmetry: deeper motives contribute to it. We would not think them so beautiful if they did not fly, or if they flew straight and briskly like bees, or if they stung, or above all if they did not enact the perturbing mystery of metamorphosis: the latter assumes in our eyes the value of a badly decoded message, a symbol, a sign."

I---Kim B, A Gypsy Angel, just wanted to say Thanks again for all your wonderful entries in our challenge. This week I got to pick the theme--- Altered Paper Dolls.

When I was growing up, paper dolls were a favorite toy, so I choose Altered
Paperdolls for the Challenge this week. So lets think of our regular paper
dolls that many of us loved as a child.-- Then, alter it.

Make a whimsical, sweet, cute or grungy paper doll. It could be kooky or it can be sweet.

Thank you everyone who applied to be part of the team the standard was very high which did not make this easy but we got there and here they are, the 7 talented girls joining the team in no particular order are.

Hazel says,

My mum and nana taught me to knit, sew and embroider at a very early age and I've been crafting one way or another ever since. I started rubber stamping about 15 years ago and love the distressed grungy look, but I do enjoy doing other styles as well. I love paper and have had a go at most papercrafts and I've at last got through the stage of buying paper to look at and stroke, I don't care what I tear, cut or crumple anymore.

As a child, art was my favorite subject in school. I have always loved crafting including crochet, sewing, embroidery. My name is Nikki Byrne I am a mother of 2, Theo 6 and Jake 19 months. I am on an elongated maternity leave! and still haven't gone back to work. I rely on my very supportive husband to support my very expensive hobby!. I have been crafting for years, but gave it up when my youngest was 6 months as my husband and I moved into a school as boarding parents. I then restarted casually about 4 years ago and
since my youngest was born I have been entering challenges as often as I can. I love to craft and make anything really, as it keeps me sane with only a 19 month old in the house all day for company and a husband who is always working until gone 10 at night! although I love him to bits it does get a bit lonely in the evenings with no one to talk to!!

Esther says,
I've been crafting for as long as I can remember, junk modelling as a child - my mum still has some toilet roll snowmen !! I started card making about 20 years ago though I can't remember how, I think I saw a stall at a craft fair and though 'I can do that!' - I still have the first rubber stamps I bought to make christmas cards with. I then found scrapbooking too, although I do this less now. Rubber stamping is definitely my biggest passion and I love getting inky and creating my own backgrounds and embellishments. I started my blog almost a year ago and as my confidence has grown I decided it was time to get stuck in a bit more and I thought what a lovely opportunity the Craft Room DT call was to join a team from the beginning. I'm really looking forward to having lots of fun and sharing our creativity !

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but only started crafting about 10 years ago with scrapbooking the kids early childhood. One year ago I made friends with a card maker and have been making cards since then. I'm also making tentative forays into Mixed Media Art and enjoy sharing my art. I love blogging and challenges, so I'm thrilled to be part of this new Design Team.

Hi, my name is Maria, I’m 45 and I am really thrilled to be one of the new members of Craft Room Challenge’s Design Team. I live in Manchester with my partner Dave, and Jack, our Springer Spaniel. I work as a Finance Officer in a nearby high school. My crafting life started a few years ago after my daughter left home. I started making cards, and other bits and bobs, and haven’t stopped since - it’s definitely one of those addictive things! I’m so proud to be one of the team and can’t wait to get involved - it’s going to be great meeting so many other like-minded people, sharing ideas and creating lovely unique things.
